Education Projects in Ghana

During Pamela and Angela’s visit to Ghana, they had the opportunity to visit some schools. The classrooms were small, extremely hot and very overcrowded, with children of various ages mixed due to lack of teachers. Despite this, the children evidently wished to learn and valued the education they were receiving.
The projects they undertook there involve various initiatives to support education in rural Ghana, particularly in the Volta and North East regions. These include the donation of second-hand computers and writing materials to two senior secondary schools, the distribution of sanitary pads to schoolgirls, and the sponsorship of eight nursing students at the Government Nursing Training Institution in Nalerigu. Additionally, one student has been sponsored for a three-year undergraduate program. All sponsored students come from underprivileged families. The projects also include the funding of two teachers' salaries at Vidya Primary School in Nalerigu, a rural school in the region.
