Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust operates one of India's largest morning nutrition programs for rural school children, ensuring child nutrition security and hunger management at the grassroots level for the last 12 years. Currently, the Trust provides morning nutrition to over 10 million students across 25 Indian states through SaiSure, a specially formulated malt/millet-based nutritional supplement. SaiSure is designed for children aged 3-16 years and provides 50% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of essential micronutrients. By addressing hidden hunger and nutrient deficiencies, the supplement has been instrumental in improving school enrollment, punctuality, mental focus, academic performance, and overall health. Teachers have also reported increased motivation and engagement among students due to better nourishment and attentiveness. Vidya Jyoti has agreed to fund Saisure for 700 + tribal village children Birbhaum, West Bengal, who are receiving education under the Nayantara Memorial Charitable Trust. As part of their expansion efforts, Annapoorna Trust, in collaboration with Vidya Jyoti, is planning to introduce SaiSure—along with milk powder and sugar—to students in Cambodia, completely free of cost. The program will initially be implemented in rural government schools in Phnom Penh, starting with small volumes and scaling up gradually. This initiative will be fully supported and funded by Vidya Jyoti.
