Ghana has 16 regions (see map). Vidya Jyoti started the water project in November 2021, drilling a new borehole in the village of Mantukwa, Akim North district of Ashanti region. The second borehole was drilled in village Tornu, in North Tongu district of Volta region, where we installed our first mechanised borehole. Within 3 years 110 Indian Mark II Handpumps have been installed in 110 villages, across 6 regions of Ghana. (see table below) We have set up maintenance schedule where our coordinators are sent to check the installed pumps in their regions, every three to four months, providing us information on any faults, which are repaired by our engineers.
